Beauty in Imperfection

Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful and beautiful. Acknowledging and accepting your imperfections can lead to personal growth. Let’s be clear first, acknowledging and accepting those imperfections that lay within your mind and heart does not mean that it is ok to stay that way, but instead let it be a door to guide you into a better version of yourself.

Your outside beauty is your unique identification given to you by God in which he already sees us as beautiful. What you carry in your heart is strictly up to you. Often times changing our thoughts can alter our mindset meaning when we change the way we think and perceive things, we can change the way we react to things, carry things, speak, and ultimately live our lives. It is very true that our thoughts shape our minds and we should be careful to what our thoughts are always on. The bible reminds us of this in Romans 12:2 “ Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”.

What we wear and our outward appearance means nothing if the heart is not right. I’m so thankful that God loves us all past our faults but he also wants us love him enough to fix them. Although we can’t always fix things on our own he desires for us to let him help us. The bible reminds us of this also when he tells us in 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”. So the truth is God’s grace shines brighter in our weaknesses. “My power is made perfect in weakness” 2 Corinthians 12:9, meaning that even in our flaws and imperfections, God’s power can be seen and experienced fully allowing our to brokenness to be a vessel for God’s beauty to shine through us.
